Rifka - Where Warmth Finds Form

Bring cosy comfort to your home with the Rifka rug, featuring a soft wool pile and tactile fringed edges.
Enjoy the soft feel of 100 percent wool underfoot, bringing natural warmth and a cosy touch to your living room or bedroom.
The thick pile creates a comforting surface that also helps absorb sound, making rooms feel quieter and more relaxed.
Crafted with care, this piece is fully compatible with underfloor heating, so you can keep rooms comfortable throughout the colder months.
The natural fibres respond well to daily living while offering a reliable and inviting texture.
Certified by OEKO-TEX, this rug meets high standards for human and ecological safety, giving you peace of mind about what goes into your home.
Production follows responsible standards, supported by our partnership with Care and Fair for better working conditions in weaving communities.
Made in India by skilled artisans, the rug reflects traditional hand-tufting techniques that bring long-lasting quality to your floors.
Each piece represents hours of careful handcrafting, resulting in a durable and reliable addition to your interior.

Design

The design features a soft off-white background accented with minimalist black zig-zag lines running down each side.
The pattern feels clean and balanced, leaving plenty of open space in the middle to highlight the rich texture of the wool pile.
Hand-tied fringes finish both ends, adding a tactile detail that enhances the relaxed look.
The calm colour palette of off-white and black works easily with modern and scandinavian interiors.
It creates a welcoming, grounded atmosphere that complements wooden furniture and neutral tones without overwhelming the room.
The Rifka rug is carefully crafted using a table tufting technique, a skilled hand-guided process where artisans shoot yarn through a base fabric to build up the plush pile.
This hands-on method requires considerable precision and patience to ensure the surface is even and dense.
Creating a rug of this size takes skilled craftspeople several days to complete from start to finish.
The human effort involved in handling the wool yarn and shaping the final details ensures a level of care that machine production cannot match.
Finishing touches, including securing the backing and attaching the hand-tied fringes, are completed by hand.
This careful attention to construction details gives the rug its sturdy build and distinctive finish.

90% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

7% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

3% Polyester

Polyester is a popular synthetic fibre used in the textile industry thanks to its durability, lightness, and resistance to stains and moisture. Polyester rugs are typically durable, making them suitable for high-traffic areas. They have a nice sheen that gives a luxurious and soft impression to the room.

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • Avoid hoovering directly over the fringes, as the suction and brushes can catch the threads and cause damage.
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
  • To clean the fringes, use a soft brush to get the debris out.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
