Small rugs

A small rug measures under 160 cm on its longest side. At Rugvista this includes round rugs from 100–150 cm diameter, and rectangular sizes such as 60 x 90 cm, 80 x 120 cm and 100 x 150 cm. For anything from 160 cm and up, see our medium rugs.

A small rug works best as an accent rather than a room’s main rug – by the front door, at the bedside, in front of a kitchen sink, or under a small coffee table. It’s not usually the right size to anchor a full living room or dining space, where a medium or large size will sit better.

On its own, a small rug won’t cover enough floor to anchor a typical living room seating area. It works well layered as an accent – in front of an armchair, under a side table, or in a reading corner – but for a rug under a sofa and coffee table, a medium or large size is a better fit.

Small rugs are a popular choice as bedside pieces – one on each side of a double or king bed, or a single strip along the foot end. A 60 x 90 cm rug suits either side of the bed, while 100 x 150 cm rugs offer more coverage at the foot end, so your feet land on something soft without needing a rug that fits under the bed itself.

Yes – our small washable rugs are easy to clean and ideal for high traffic areas. Many are also. machine washable, making them a practical choice for kids’ rooms, kitchens and hallways where spills are common.
