Perfect for smaller living spaces, a 2-seat sofa pairs well with rugs measuring around 140 x 200 cm or 160 x 230 cm. The rug should extend slightly beyond the sofa’s front legs to create a balanced look.

For standard living rooms, a 3-seat sofa fits comfortably on a 160 x 230 cm or 200 x 300 cm rug. Place the front legs of the sofa and the coffee table on the rug for a cohesive feel.

A corner or L-shaped sofa works best with rugs measuring 200 x 300 cm or 250 x 350 cm. Position the rug so it extends beyond all sides of the sofa to visually anchor the seating area.
