Mono Handloom - A Grounded Space for Quiet Moments

Bring cosy warmth and tactile depth to your floor with this soft handloomed rug, designed to make your living space feel inviting.
Step onto a surface that brings a welcoming layer of warmth and calm to your room.
This rug feels soft beneath your feet and helps absorb sound, creating a quiet and restful atmosphere in your living room or bedroom.
Crafted in India, this piece reflects traditional artisan skills passed down through generations.
Each rug is carefully made by hand, resulting in an authentic character that brings genuine craft quality into your home.
Designed for modern living, this rug is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems, allowing warmth to pass through evenly.
It is certified under OEKO-TEX, giving you peace of mind that the materials have been tested for harmful substances.
The dense construction provides a solid, supportive feel underfoot while standing up to daily use.
It is a reliable choice that combines practical comfort with lasting quality for busy households.

Design

The design features a clean central field framed by a distinct decorative border, creating a balanced and structured look.
Subtle tonal shifts across the surface catch the light gently, adding gentle visual movement without overwhelming the room.
Rich brown tones lend a grounded and welcoming mood to the interior.
The design suits modern homes seeking a calm, earthy foundation that pairs easily with wooden furniture and neutral textiles.
This rug is meticulously crafted using a traditional handloom technique.
Skilled artisans spend days working on a specialised vertical frame, carefully weaving the fibres by hand to achieve a uniform and resilient structure.
The process requires considerable human effort, time, and precision.
Weavers manually pass the yarn through the cotton warp and wool foundation, ensuring each row is tightly packed for durability and a consistent surface texture.

70% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Viscose

Viscose is a synthetic fibre made from cellulose, which is a natural material found in plants. The material is often used to give a shine to rugs and to highlight details in a way that is found in silk rugs. Viscose rugs have a soft and beautiful shine that gives a luxurious feeling. The material is sensitive to liquids, which means that moisture can cause stains, shrink or make the fibres yellow. Therefore it is best if you avoid placing place your viscose rug in areas prone to humidity or risk of spills.

10% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • Rug suitable for use with underfloor heating (max. 27°C).
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.

Installation

  • For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • The rug is sensitive to moisture, which can cause the fibers to shrink or discolor (e.g., turn yellow). To prevent this, avoid placing the rug in areas prone to humidity or spills.
  • We recommend using an anti-slip mat with this rug, as color migration may occur onto light-colored floors.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Cleaning instructions

Do this
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover only on the wool parts of the rug, not on the viscose parts.
  • Spot clean only.
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a dry, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
