Glasgow - A Foundation of Calm Comfort

Bring a sense of grounded elegance to your home with the Glasgow rug, featuring a rich, tactile surface that offers warmth and natural sound absorption in every room.
The Glasgow rug is part of our Rugvista Premium collection, representing a considered approach to home textiles where quality and comfort are the primary focus. Crafted from 100% Wool, this rug provides a dense and inviting surface that feels wonderful underfoot while adding a layer of warmth to your living space.
Beyond its pleasing texture, this rug serves as a functional addition to any home, offering effective sound absorption to help create a more peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Its construction is designed to be compatible with underfloor heating, ensuring that your room remains comfortable throughout the cooler months.
As a piece produced in India, this rug benefits from a long tradition of textile craftsmanship, resulting in a durable and reliable product for daily use. The natural properties of the wool ensure that the rug remains a resilient choice for your home, maintaining its look and feel over time with simple, regular care.
We are committed to responsible production, ensuring that all our rugs meet high standards for quality and ethical manufacturing. This rug is a testament to our dedication to providing long-lasting, beautiful textiles that enhance the character of your home while offering the practical benefits you expect from a premium piece.

Design

The design of the Glasgow rug centres on a clean, intentional aesthetic, featuring a bold contrast between its deep green centre and the dark blue border. This simple yet striking colour combination creates a balanced look that anchors a room without overwhelming the surrounding decor.
Its minimalist approach relies on the interplay of colour and the rich texture of the wool to provide visual interest. The rounded edges add a subtle softness to the overall shape, making it a versatile choice for various modern living spaces.
The Glasgow rug is created through a traditional hand-woven process, a method that requires significant skill and time. Each rug is carefully crafted by experienced artisans who guide the loom to build the structure, ensuring a consistent and high-quality finish that machine production simply cannot replicate.
This labour-intensive technique involves a high level of human effort, with the creation of each piece taking several weeks from start to finish. By relying on manual expertise rather than automation, every rug retains a unique character and a level of attention to detail that ensures it stands out as a premium addition to your interior.
The artisans involved in the production of this rug use their years of experience to manage the tension and weave, resulting in a product that is both robust and refined. This commitment to traditional craft not only supports local skills but also delivers a final rug that offers a tangible sense of quality and enduring value.

80% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.

Care instructions

Do this
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
