Gabbeh loom Two Lines - A Warm Embrace for Your Home

Bring a touch of artisanal warmth to your hallway with this deep red wool runner. Its dense, soft pile and playful motifs create a welcoming atmosphere.
Experience the inviting texture of the Gabbeh loom Two Lines runner. Crafted from wool, this piece offers a soft and comforting feel underfoot, making it a perfect choice for adding warmth to your home.
As part of our Rugvista Premium selection, this rug represents a high standard of quality and craftsmanship. The dense pile not only provides a luxurious sensation but also helps with sound absorption, creating a calmer environment in your living space.
This runner is designed for modern life, offering compatibility with underfloor heating systems. It also carries fire certification, ensuring that your choice is as safe as it is beautiful for your indoor areas.
Originating from India, this piece showcases the skill involved in its creation. Every step of the process ensures a long-lasting addition to your home that brings both character and comfort to any room.

Design

This runner features a rich, deep red base that serves as a vibrant backdrop for its charming design. The surface is adorned with small, stylised animal and tree motifs, which are sparsely and thoughtfully placed across the length of the rug.
The overall aesthetic is grounded in a rustic, organic style that feels both playful and refined. Its simple, repetitive pattern draws the eye without overwhelming your decor, making it a versatile choice for various spaces.
The Gabbeh loom Two Lines is loomknotted by hand, a technique that requires significant time and dedication. Skilled artisans spend days carefully placing each knot to ensure the final piece is both durable and visually rich.
This labour-intensive method allows for a level of detail and structural integrity that machine-made rugs simply cannot replicate. The human effort involved reflects a commitment to traditional craft that prioritises quality over speed.
By choosing this handmade runner, you are supporting age-old techniques that have been refined over generations. The result is a substantial and tactile textile that stands as a testament to the artisan's patience and expertise.

80% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
