Big Drop - A Sanctuary of Calm

Bring a soothing, tactile element to your home with a hand-woven rug that combines soft neutral tones with a rich, bubbled structure for a comforting feel underfoot.
Experience a wonderful sense of comfort with the Big Drop rug, designed to bring warmth and a calming atmosphere to your favourite room. The distinctive bubbled structure offers a delightful tactile feel underfoot, making every step a soft and pleasant experience. Beyond its physical comfort, the dense construction helps to absorb sound, creating a quieter and more peaceful environment for your daily life.
Crafted from wool, this piece naturally repels dirt and provides excellent durability, making it a practical choice for busy households. The natural properties of the wool ensure that the rug remains cosy during colder months while maintaining its beautiful appearance over time. It is a thoughtful addition to any space where comfort and longevity are key.
This rug is fully compatible with underfloor heating, allowing you to enhance the cosy warmth of your home without worry. As part of our carefully curated selection, it represents a high standard of craftsmanship and design, offering a refined touch that complements a variety of modern interiors.
Handmade in India, each piece carries the unique character of skilled craftsmanship, ensuring that your rug is truly one of a kind. This origin is a mark of genuine quality, representing a long tradition of textile making that brings both history and beauty into your living space.

Design

The design of this rug is defined by its beautiful, structured surface, featuring a repeating pattern of small, rounded loops that create a rich and inviting texture. This subtle, all-over pattern gives the piece a modern, organic feel, adding depth and visual interest without overwhelming the room.
A harmonious blend of grey and beige tones creates a versatile palette that easily adapts to your existing decor. This soft colour combination brings a calm, balanced mood to your home, making it an ideal match for scandinavian or modern interior styles that celebrate clean lines and natural beauty.
This rug is hand woven by skilled artisans, using traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations. The hand-weaving process involves carefully interlacing the yarns to create a sturdy, beautifully structured flatweave that stands the test of time.
Every single piece requires a significant amount of time, patience, and human effort to complete. The artisans work with great care to ensure that the tension and pattern are consistent throughout, resulting in a rug that showcases the true beauty of handmade craft.
By choosing a hand-woven rug, you are bringing a piece of genuine craftsmanship into your home. The subtle variations in the weave make each rug unique, reflecting the individual touch of the maker and the authentic nature of handmade textiles.

80% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • This rug is handmade with a looped pile, which makes it more prone to snagging. Hoover carefully and keep it away from sharp objects, as these can pull the loops out of place and cause uneven wear.
  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • For best results and a longer-lasting rug, we recommend shaking the rug instead of hoovering. If needed, hoover carefully using gentle suction to avoid stressing the pile.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • Rug suitable for use with underfloor heating (max. 27°C).
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this
  • Spot clean only.
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
