Whether placed in a bedroom or a quiet seating area, it adds a layer of comfort and style that feels both considered and welcoming.

Design

The design features a sophisticated geometric pattern that plays with light and shadow through its high and low pile construction. The clean lines create a sense of order and structure, making it a versatile choice for contemporary spaces.

Presented in a soft green tone, the colour is subtle and calming, designed to blend seamlessly with your existing decor. The interplay between the different pile heights adds visual interest without overwhelming the room, offering a balanced and elegant look.

The Alley rug is carefully hand-tufted by skilled artisans in India. This labour-intensive process involves punching Wool yarn into a backing material to create the dense, textured surface you see and feel. The technique requires a high level of precision and patience to ensure the pattern remains consistent across the entire rug.

Creating a rug of this quality takes time and a steady hand. Because each piece is finished by hand, it carries the unique touch of the person who made it. This human element is what separates our premium pieces from standard alternatives, giving your rug a distinct sense of character and substance.

The intricate high and low pile details are achieved through careful shearing once the tufting is complete. This step defines the design and adds the tactile variety that makes the rug so pleasant underfoot. By choosing this hand-tufted piece, you are supporting traditional craft practices and bringing a truly well-made item into your home.

Maintenance

Shedding is a natural characteristic of wool and table-tufted cotton. You may notice loose fibres during the first few months as they work their way out of the pile. The shedding gradually reduces over time, although some may continue throughout the rug's lifetime, and it doesn't affect the rug's quality or durability. Hoover regularly with gentle suction and without a rotating brush to remove loose fibres
To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.
