This stunning, one-of-a-kind runner brings refined elegance to any hallway or narrow space, showcasing the masterful precision of traditional Tabriz craftsmanship.

This exceptional runner is a true one-of-a-kind piece, meaning its specific combination of design and character will never be replicated. Owning it grants you a unique element of artistry that transforms a functional space into a gallery-like experience. Because each rug is distinct, you are not just selecting a floor covering, but a permanent addition to your home's narrative.

The tactile experience of this rug is defined by its substantial 10 mm pile, which offers a warm and cushioned feel underfoot. It provides excellent sound absorption, making it an ideal choice for high-traffic corridors where comfort and acoustic softness are desired. The density of the construction ensures that the rug remains stable and plush, maintaining its inviting texture through years of daily use.

Rooted in the storied tradition of the Middle East, this rug showcases a level of detail that is only possible through highly refined hand-knotting. The intricate patterns are rendered with remarkable clarity, reflecting a heritage of weaving excellence that prioritises both beauty and long-term durability. The high knot density is the secret behind its crisp visual appeal and resilient structure.

The deep, rich tones and harmonious motifs are designed to anchor a room while adding a layer of sophisticated warmth. Whether placed in an entry hall or alongside a statement piece of furniture, the rug acts as a grounding element that brings balance and elegance to your interior. It is a piece that invites you to appreciate the quiet luxury of authentic craft every day.

The Tabriz tradition originates from one of the oldest carpet-weaving centres in the Middle East. Located in the historic city of Tabriz, this region has long been a hub for the finest weaving workshops, drawing from centuries of artistic evolution along the Silk Road. These rugs are celebrated for their technical precision and their ability to incorporate both classical and contemporary design influences.

The term '50 Raj' refers to a specific system of measurement that indicates the fineness of the weave. It describes the number of knots within a 7 cm span, serving as a benchmark for quality and complexity. A 50 Raj designation signifies a high standard of craftsmanship, resulting in a tighter, more durable pile and a much sharper definition of the intricate patterns that adorn the surface.

Visually, these rugs are known for their sophisticated layouts, often featuring complex central medallions, detailed floral sprays, and elegant border systems. While they often follow traditional motifs, the artistry lies in how these elements are balanced across the field. The use of a black field with contrasting warm tones is a classic choice that highlights the precision of the knotting and the depth of the design.

Collectors value these pieces not only for their aesthetic beauty but for the immense cultural weight they carry. To own a genuine piece from this tradition is to possess a tangible connection to a long-standing craft. It represents a commitment to preserving traditional techniques while enjoying a product of lasting quality that stands apart from mass-produced alternatives.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted, a labour-intensive process that requires immense skill and focus. With a density of 490,000 knots per m2, the creation of this 206 x 80 cm runner represents hundreds of hours of dedicated work by experienced artisans. This high knot density is essential for achieving the fine, sharp lines and complex floral details that define the aesthetic of this piece.

The construction quality is further evidenced by its weight of 5.8 kg, which signals a dense, robust foundation that will stand the test of time. Every single knot is tied by hand, ensuring that the pile is firmly secured to the structure. This level of investment in labour and material results in a rug that is not only visually stunning but also physically enduring and capable of maintaining its integrity for generations.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Silk

Silk is an exclusive natural fibre that provides a soft and shiny feeling to rugs. The material can also be used to enhance details in wool rugs and in some, silk can make up the entire pile and sometimes even the warp. Elegant rugs with rich details can only be made with silk because other fibres are too thick for this purpose. Silk is a durable and hard-wearing fibre that lasts a long time and becomes more beautiful over time. Due to its sensitivity to liquids, it is advisable to refrain from positioning the rug in areas where there is a high likelihood of moisture or potential spills.
