As a natural fibre product, jute is celebrated for its durability and sustainable qualities. This rug embodies a simple, honest approach to home decor, focusing on the inherent beauty of the material. Each piece is crafted with care, ensuring a high level of finish that feels both authentic and refined.

Choosing this rug means bringing a piece of skilled craftsmanship into your home. Its construction highlights the natural variations of the fibre, making each rug unique. Whether placed in a living area or a bedroom, it serves as a subtle, stylish foundation that ties your decor together effortlessly.

Design

The design features a clean, striped pattern that balances natural tones with crisp white accents. Its geometric layout provides a structured yet relaxed look that fits seamlessly into a variety of home styles.

The contrast between the earthy beige jute and the bright white stripes creates a visual focal point that is both simple and striking. Finished with delicate fringes, the rug maintains a light and breezy aesthetic.

This rug is hand-woven by skilled artisans in India, a process that requires significant time and focus. Each line and weave is carefully managed by hand to ensure the final result is both durable and visually balanced. The labour-intensive nature of hand-weaving means that producing a single rug involves hours of dedicated effort from experienced craftspeople.

The process begins with the preparation of natural jute fibres, which are then woven onto a loom. This traditional technique allows for a tighter, more robust structure compared to machine-made alternatives. The human element of this production method is visible in the subtle irregularities, which add character and authenticity to the finished piece.

100% Jute

Jute is a natural material that consists of a long, soft and shiny plant fibre that can be spun into coarse and strong threads. Jute rugs are known for their natural texture, which makes them durable and highly resistant to wear and tear. They also have a higher sound insulation effect than for example synthetic rugs. Jute rugs are a sustainable option since they can be recycled and are biodegradable. The material is sensitive to moisture, therefore jute rugs should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.

Care & Fair

We are proud to be part of the organization CARE & FAIR. Their mission is to improve the living conditions of carpet weavers in India and their families through education and health

Maintenance

To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
Avoid hoovering directly over the fringes, as the suction and brushes can catch the threads and cause damage.
Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
The rug can bleach or change colour if exposed to direct sunlight; therefore, it is important to avoid placing the rugs in direct sunlight.
The rugs are sensitive to moisture, therefore they should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.
Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
