Bring an earthy, grounding touch to your home with the Jute Jalusi rug, crafted from natural fibres to add warmth and tactile depth to your floors.

Ground your living space with the natural warmth and tactile feel of the Jute Jalusi rug, designed to bring an authentic, organic touch to floors throughout the home.

Its considered construction introduces subtle sound absorption and a comforting layer of insulation underfoot, making daily steps feel quiet and grounded.

Crafted from jute, this piece brings the unadorned beauty of natural plant fibres directly into your interior, offering a rustic character that feels honest and reassuring.

The construction relies on natural materials selected for longevity and everyday practicality in busy households.

Designed for modern living, this rug is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems, allowing warmth to pass through steadily for a cosy indoor climate during cooler months.

It carries the OEKO-TEX certification as an independent assurance that the materials have been tested for harmful substances.

Originating from India, the rug reflects traditional hand-weaving skills passed down through generations.

Each piece is crafted with care, ensuring a high standard of finish and dependable quality that supports your home life over the years.

Design

The design features a uniform flatweave texture created by tightly interlaced natural fibres, forming a subtle horizontal linear rhythm across the surface.

The visual composition is clean and understated, letting the organic variations and natural tone differences of the fibres take centre stage without any added motifs.

The warm beige colour palette brings an inviting and earthy atmosphere to the room, blending seamlessly with wooden furniture and neutral interior schemes.

It suits rustic and nature-inspired spaces particularly well, adding a calm, grounded layer that softens stone floors and ties a room together.

The Jute Jalusi rug is carefully crafted using traditional hand-weaving techniques on a vertical loom.

Skilled artisans guide the shuttle by hand, interlacing the natural fibres row by row to build a sturdy, reliable structure that honours age-old textile traditions.

Creating a piece of this scale requires considerable human effort and weeks of patient work by experienced weavers.

The rhythmic hand manipulation of the natural fibres ensures an even tension across the whole surface, resulting in a durable flatweave with a distinct tactile quality.

This dedication to hand craftsmanship means each rug carries subtle character variations that machine-made alternatives cannot replicate.

The slow, considered production process ensures that every finished item is a unique testament to the artisan skill and time.

90% Jute

Jute is a natural material that consists of a long, soft and shiny plant fibre that can be spun into coarse and strong threads. Jute rugs are known for their natural texture, which makes them durable and highly resistant to wear and tear. They also have a higher sound insulation effect than for example synthetic rugs. Jute rugs are a sustainable option since they can be recycled and are biodegradable. The material is sensitive to moisture, therefore jute rugs should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.

10% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Maintenance

To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
The rug can bleach or change colour if exposed to direct sunlight; therefore, it is important to avoid placing the rugs in direct sunlight.
The rugs are sensitive to moisture, therefore they should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.
Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this

Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
