Construction - Natural White / BlackWool rug
200 x 300 cm

Construction - A Foundation of Modern Calm

Bring a sense of structured harmony to your home with this hand-woven rug, featuring bold geometric lines that create an inviting and balanced atmosphere.
The Construction rug offers a tactile and grounding experience, crafted from soft wool that provides natural warmth and comfort underfoot. Its dense, hand-woven structure helps to absorb sound, making it a perfect addition to living rooms or bedrooms where you want to create a calm and quiet sanctuary.
Designed with versatility in mind, this piece is fully compatible with underfloor heating, ensuring your space remains cosy and inviting throughout the colder months. The natural wool fibres are durable and resilient, offering a practical solution for busy areas of your home while maintaining their soft, welcoming feel.
This rug is a product of skilled artistry from India, where every detail is carefully considered to ensure a high-quality finish. The combination of wool and a sturdy cotton foundation results in a long-lasting item that retains its shape and beauty over time, providing you with a reliable and stylish home accessory.
By choosing this hand-woven rug, you are supporting traditional craftsmanship that values both quality and longevity. It is a thoughtful choice for those who appreciate natural materials and want to bring a touch of understated elegance into their daily life.

Design

The design features a bold, geometric layout that plays with negative space and sharp lines. The striking contrast between the black and white tones creates a modern look that acts as a focal point in any room without overwhelming the existing decor.
Its clean, minimalist aesthetic is balanced by the natural texture of the wool, adding visual depth to the floor. The linear pattern provides a sense of order and structure, making it a versatile choice for contemporary interiors.
This rug is hand-woven by skilled artisans in India, a process that requires significant time, patience, and a deep understanding of textile techniques. By interlacing wool and cotton threads, the weavers create a robust and beautiful surface that showcases the human touch in every detail.
The creation of a single rug involves a labour-intensive approach where the weaver carefully manages the tension and alignment of the threads. Because this is a handmade item, each piece reflects the dedication of the maker, resulting in a unique character that machine-made alternatives simply cannot replicate.
The scale of effort involved means that it takes several days for a weaver to complete a single rug of this size. This commitment to traditional methods ensures that the final product is not only visually striking but also built to withstand the demands of everyday use in your home.

80% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • We recommend using an anti-slip mat with this rug, as color migration may occur onto light-colored floors.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Cleaning instructions

Do this
  • Spot clean only.
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
