This rug is a truly one-of-a-kind find. Because it has been individually created, no two rugs are identical, meaning you are bringing a unique piece of art into your home that will never be replicated. It is a special opportunity to own a textile that carries its own distinct presence.

The design draws heavily from the rich heritage of Chinese rug-making, known for its focus on balanced compositions and natural motifs. The deep blue and soft floral tones work together to create a visual harmony that feels both established and welcoming.

Designed to be a lasting feature in your home, this piece offers a tactile experience that only a hand-knotted construction can provide. Its density ensures it holds its shape and beauty over time, making it a reliable and cherished element of your interior decor.

The tradition of Chinese rug weaving is centuries old, evolving from a craft originally intended for the imperial court and high-ranking officials. Unlike some other regional styles, Chinese rugs have long been celebrated for their unique approach to three-dimensional relief, where the pile is sculpted to highlight the intricate floral and botanical motifs.

The 90-line designation refers to the traditional measurement system used in China to determine the density of the weave. This method of construction ensures that the rug maintains a balance between a plush, comfortable pile and the sharp, clear definition of its decorative elements, which is essential for the graceful curves of the floral patterns seen here.

Floral motifs are deeply embedded in the cultural history of this region. These patterns often draw from traditional art, incorporating blossoms and leaves that symbolise prosperity and longevity. The use of a bold, deep blue field provides a classic backdrop that makes the softer pinks and creams of the flowers stand out with striking clarity.

Collecting rugs from this tradition is an act of preserving a specific artistic legacy. Because they require such refined skill to produce, these rugs are valued not just for their utility as floor coverings, but as significant pieces of cultural heritage. Owning one is a way to connect with a history of artisanal excellence that has been passed down through generations.

This rug is carefully hand-knotted by skilled artisans. The process requires a steady hand and a keen eye for detail, as each individual knot is tied by hand to build the foundation and the pile. This labour-intensive method is what gives the rug its durable structure and allows for the refined clarity of its floral patterns.

With a weight of 2.7 kg, this piece demonstrates a high degree of material density, reflecting the significant human effort and time invested in its creation. The precision required to secure each knot ensures that the finished product is not only visually striking but also robust enough to withstand daily life in a home environment.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.
