This stunning Abadeh rug brings an authentic sense of warmth and character to your living space. Hand-knotted with Wool, it offers a soft, tactile surface that feels substantial underfoot, providing both comfort and natural sound absorption to your room.

The rich, deep tones and complex geometric patterns create a captivating focal point. Each detail is intentionally placed, showcasing the skill involved in creating a piece that balances visual complexity with a sense of harmony and calm.

Because this rug is truly one of a kind, you are acquiring a piece that exists nowhere else in the world. Its unique personality and specific weave mean it will never be replicated, making it a special addition to your home that reflects a genuine appreciation for traditional craft.

Originating from a region celebrated for its long-standing weaving traditions, this rug serves as a bridge between historical art and modern living. Its density ensures a durable surface that will maintain its beauty and integrity for years to come, maturing gracefully within your space.

Abadeh rugs hail from the Fars province in the Middle East, a region with a storied history of nomadic and semi-nomadic weaving. These rugs are highly regarded for their ability to synthesise the bold, expressive patterns of tribal traditions with a more refined, structured aesthetic that makes them exceptionally versatile in contemporary homes.

The artistry of an Abadeh rug is often defined by its use of the 'heybatlu' design, a distinctive pattern featuring a central medallion surrounded by smaller, repeating floral and animal motifs. This visual language is deeply rooted in the cultural identity of the region, where every shape and symbol often carries a history or a story from the weavers' lives.

Quality in this tradition is often determined by the precision of the knotting and the quality of the Wool. The use of traditional dyes creates a depth of colour that is difficult to replicate with modern methods, as the materials age, they often develop a subtle, soft patina that only enhances the rug's character over time.

Owning an Abadeh rug is more than just a decor choice; it is an act of preserving a craft that has been passed down through generations. These rugs are collected by those who value the human element in art, offering a connection to the heritage and the dedicated hands that shaped the pattern long before it reached your floor.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted, a process that requires significant time and focus from skilled artisans. By tying each individual knot by hand, the weaver ensures a level of structural integrity and pattern precision that simply cannot be achieved through mechanical production.

With a density of 250,000 knots per m2, this piece represents a considerable investment of labour. For a rug of this size, such a high knot count translates to a denser, more resilient pile and a remarkably sharp definition in the intricate geometric motifs, reflecting the dedication required to complete such an involved design.

The 4.7 kg weight of this 150 x 105 cm rug further illustrates the quality of the materials and the density of the construction. This substantial weight is a direct result of the high-quality Wool used and the tight, careful knotting technique, ensuring a product that is built to endure daily use.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.
